The Castle Downs Recreation Society is very proud to announce that it is once again hosting its one-week HOCKEY SCHOOL at the Castle Downs Recreation Center from August 15th through August 20th, 2011, for player’s ages 6 to 14 years. Participants are expected to register in the appropriate age group according to the upcoming 2011-2012 EMHA Season.

The focus of the school, under the guidance of our advisor, Kelly Rissling, and Head Instructor Jeff Wood, is on hockey skills and skating development. Each day new aspects of the game are featured providing players with an excellent opportunity to learn new skills with emphasis placed on a fun-learning environment. The school culminates with our exclusive “Game Day Saturday”, where the participants get to show off their stuff, in a game setting.

Over the past 29 years, the Castle Downs Hockey School ( CDHS ) has been offered through the Castle Downs Recreation Society ( CDRS ), the Area Council for the six Community Leagues of Castle Downs. The CDRS is operated as a not for profit program and has established itself as an affordable, well run pre-season school, with many players returning each year. Participants are slotted into classes according to ability and age ensuring each player receives training specific to their skill level.

All participants are expected to have good skating abilities and appropriate hockey knowledge for their age group.

Session Times and Age Groupings are subject to the number of registrants, with Novice Sessions starting first

and Bantam Sessions taking place at the end of each day. Don't wait to register, as spaces will fill fast and our

Sessions are limited to 32 players.

Daily Theme:

Monday – Puck Control Thursday – Checking

Tuesday - Passing & Receiving Friday – Strategies

Wednesday – Shooting Saturday – Full Game Day

Registration Fee: $200.00 per person

Waiver and registration forms are to be filled out and returned by August 1^st, 2011. Cheques may be post dated no later than August 1^st, 2011. A confirmation will be sent upon receipt of registration, with final session times provided in early August.
